Who doesn't love fall decorating? Gourds galore, vibrant leaves, apple centerpieces, oh let us count the ways we adore autumn décor. Unfortunately, all those velvet fabric squares and elaborate wreaths can put a serious dent in your wallet.

So what's a pretty pumpkin to do? Head to Trader Joe's for some of the best $3 home decor additions we've ever seen: Dried natural wheat stalks. Available seasonally, the popular grocery chain pedals these dried wheat bundles in assorted styles for a mere $2.99.

As Apartment Therapy's Dabney Frake wrote in a recent piece, "Groceries aside, there's always some new, seasonal item found right inside [Trader Joe's] front door—pumpkins, eucalyptus, and alstroemerias to name a few— that I can buy and keep around for months," before describing her joy when she saw the natural wheat stalks for sale. "I'm here to tell you that, as fall decor goes, natural dried wheat is one of my very favorite things. It lasts forever, it's classic, and it's so very versatile," she writes of the affordable find.

Once you've picked up a few bundles, the possibilities are nearly endless. Gather one or two stalks and put them in a glass vase for an elegant mantel centerpiece, tie a handful of stalks together with twine for place settings at the table, or — if you're particularly DIY-savvy —make a wreath.
