Lights, camera, Concord.

If you want to see incredible Christmas lights, that is.

For one of the most dazzling lights display in the South, set your sights on Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Concord is just a 20 minute drive north of downtown Charlotte. Now in its 10th year, 2019's extravaganza will include four million LED lights accompanied by holiday music along the grounds' nearly four-mile long driving course. Visitors will also have the opportunity to drive on parts of the new road course during their visit.

Speedway Christmas is open nightly from November 22nd through January 5th, with the exception of Christmas Day. For more seasonal fun, the infield Christmas Village features s'mores, decorated Christmas trees, kids activities, food, drive-in holiday movies (Elf, anyone?) displayed on the 16,000-square-foot Speedway TV, open Thursday through Sunday November 22nd through December 12th and then every night through December 29th, except for Christmas. Additionally, Bethlehem Village, where the Christmas story will be shared with character mapping and live animals, a Ferris wheel, carousel, and slide rides, will also all be offered as part of the infield entertainment section. (For a particularly cool experience, be sure to walk through the new 100-foot LED tunnel, covered from top-to-bottom in festive lights.)

This year, guests can expect a lights display bigger and better than ever, built around the theme of Santa's Safari, spotlighting "whimsical characters from the Serengeti." Tickets run from $20 per car and $40 per van (rates on Monday through Wednesday begin at these discounted prices). Head to CharlotteMotorSpeedway.com or call 1-800-455-3267 to order tickets.
