Whether you're 25 or 50, the moment you decide to have a child is a huge life milestone. In her new book, the TODAY show's Hoda Kotb gave fans an insider's glimpse at the experience, and her co-host Jenna Bush Hager is cheering her on.

"This is admittedly late because I'm late to everything these days but my dearest @hodakotb wrote a beautiful book and #ireallyneededthistoday#ireallydid!" Bush Hager captioned a photo of the cover of Kotb's book I Really Needed This Today: Words to Live By, alongside a poignant excerpt from the book. As a fellow new mama herself, to baby Hal, the sentimental passage about deciding to become a parent clearly means a lot to Hager, too.

Kotb had spent much time thinking about the idea of becoming a mom, but hadn't yet brought it up to her boyfriend, Joel. At last, she said to him: "You don't have to tell me right now—take a minute—but I'd like to explore the possibility of adopting a baby with you." Undoubtedly, a nervewrecking moment for Kotb as she expressed her innermost desires. "Without skipping a beat, Joel said, 'I don't need a minute. Let's do it.'" If you feel tears welling up in your eyes, you're not alone.
