We may call them our friends "across the pond," but some Southerners are none too pleased with a certain "Kansas City Stack Burger" that was unveiled at McDonald's in the United Kingdom earlier this week and will stay on menus until June 25th, 2019. While the burger may call out Kansas City in its name, it doesn't seem to have much in common with Kansas City barbecue, celebrated for its dry-rubbed, slow-cooked meats with a signature tomato and molasses sauce.

In reaction to a promotional Tweet about the new, limited-time, bacon-topped, double burger, outgoing Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Sly James tweeted the below:

James wasn't alone in expressing his dismay. Many other Kansas City residents and American barbecue fans replied to the post, chiming in with their own two cents on the menu addition.

Fox 4 KC even recruited American journalist Kevin Kline, who lives abroad in Ireland, to sample the burger on-air. Watch the clip below. (Spoiler alert: He doens't think it's exactly KC 'cue.)
