Big South Fork Scenic Railway
Explore the great outdoors from the comfort of a rail car with a trip on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway, which is owned and run by the McCreary County Heritage Foundation. The Run to the Gorge excursion, which runs throughout November, is a gorgeous ride to the scenic gorge of the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, with a stop at Blue Heron, a former coal mining community on the banks of the Cumberland River.
